I grew up and still live in Hugo, Minnesota. I married my husband Cary in 1982; we have three grown sons. I graduated from St. Paul Academy of Hairdressing a week after graduating from White Bear High School. I worked downtown St. Paul until our children were born. In 1992, I started working at Prime Design in Birch Lake Square, White Bear Lake, and I’m still here! The name has changed several times over the years and we went from corporate owned to privately owned in December of 2018. I love working here! It’s a great location, I work with great people, and I love my clients.

Hi, I’m Joe. I grew up in Rosemount, MN. Built and moved to my home in Roseville, MN in 1986. The same year I graduated from Brooks Barber and Beauty School in West St. Paul. My entire career of 34 years, has been in the Shoreview, Vadnais Heights and White Bear Lake communities! It’s been an honor and great joy to serve each and everyone of my clients. The pleasure is truly mine! You are all the best! Cheers to the future!

My passion for the beauty industry came at a young age. As soon as I graduated high school, I went to beauty school at St. Paul Tech. I graduated in October 1999, that November I started working at Hair by Stewarts. Twenty years later, my passion for the industry is still strong. I find myself working with the same group of talented stylists with whom I began my journey. My passions include: coloring of all techniques; cutting and styling hair from blow-outs to updos.

Hi, I’m Vanessa. Born and raised in Minnesota. I found my home in this salon 12 years ago, and through all the changes, we are on our best path yet! Going independent has been the most positive change in all of our careers and we are loving it. My passions include coloring, specializing in blondes, updos, haircutting and everyday styling. I’m so grateful to work with such talented, fun people. I love our clients!

I grew up in the White Bear Lake area and came to this salon as a child. This salon has always felt like home to me. I began working here in 2012 after graduating from Regency Beauty School. I am so excited about the recent transition into private ownership and the flexibility we all have as stylists and independent chair renters. I am so grateful for my fellow stylists and the clientele I have met over the years. I feel like I have an incredible community and family far beyond what I ever expected. I love what I do and truly enjoy making people feel good about themselves inside and out.

Went to beauty school in Grand Forks and worked my first job in a small college town. Moved to the cities, trained in New York and London. I have been in the business for 50 years. I love and enjoy what I do.

I knew I wanted to be a part of the beauty industry at the age of 14. I spent my senior year of high school attending beauty school full time.
I graduated as a cosmetologist in 1990 and came to work at Prime Design, which later became Hair By Stewarts and now Birch Lake Salon. I love the beauty industry! I am currently a nail technician at Birch Lake Salon. It still feels like home and I love the people here!
Tracey
Tracey is a professional makeup artist and hairstylist who has worked with Suzanne Sommers and Steve Martin. She is also an advanced practitioner esthetician, certified microblader, licensed tattoo artist, NASM personal trainer and certified life coach. She loves making people look and feel their best.
Tracey is currently being trained in scalp micropigmentation, and she also holds political science and paralegal degrees.
